To help keep our kindergarten community up to date with Centre activities and news, we are adding a blog to our website. We will feature articles by our educators, include photos and stories, and share the children’s learning adventures. We will also include relevant changes in Government policies about Child Care regulations, and Childcare assistance for families.
We have established a Pinterest page as a resource for parents and staff. Click on the Pinterest button in the sidebar and check it out. We would appreciate feedback and suggestions to improve our page.
Information Evening – Screen Time for Pre-schoolers Wednesday 17th June, 6.00pm to 7.00 pm
This will be an interactive evening, so bring your IPads and tablets.
We will share current research and recommendations for using I.T. with young children. We will discuss the pros and cons, and include some ideas of how to select programs wisely.
Environment at Brooklyn Park Kindergarten
Management and staff work together to ensure that our environment and equipment at the Kindergarten are high quality. We chose high quality wooden furniture for the centre, and we have several sets of beautiful wooden blocks for construction.
As much as possible we use natural materials for activities. You have probably noticed the emphasis on sustainability and recycling throughout our operations. We are adding fruit trees and vegetable beds to our garden. There are four bins for recycling and rubbish, and the children use these expertly. We have a worm farm for our food scraps.
We will be adding more fruit trees, and a water feature in the near future.
